@NoSquish love this bill, am enjoying the homeowner tears. How come they want car infrastructure handouts in the billions but as soon as they have to pay for walking infrastructure it's not fair?
@jmarkgilbert interesting read, thanks! I know some places have building codes that require a window for a room to be considered a "bedroom" which I find to be too restrictive. Long narrow apartments with open floor plans and a bedroom by the window could work, definitely takes some creativity and depends on the building.
@nerd4cities $TSLA is the bubble of the century, really wouldn't be surprised to see it crater hard. It's an expensive lesson in hype and has unfortunately put our country and planet further behind in sustainability. #BanCars baby
@Microplastics101 opinion, based on research. Just like you :) thanks for the reading and conversation
@TobyHardtospell @capntransit love infill development, Denver has this really cool blog tracking infill with maps and progress updates https://denverinfill.com/ . Infill is only one peice of the puzzle though, that's why I was thinking about other options such as office conversions.
@Microplastics101 I reckon some places are near their population limits while other are not. For the US at least with some of the most fertile land in the world and very low population density I think we could reach 1 billion population and have the food to sustain that population. We would need to drastically change land usage, stop being so wasteful etc. I think we could sustain a much larger population while preserving the planet, but that would require political willpower/lifestyle changes.
@Microplastics101 I don't think overpopulation is a problem, but living in a wasteful way definitely is. Dense cities have significantly smaller energy requirements per Capita, use less water, etc and leave more land for wildlife/farming. That's my understanding. Population will level off soon ish too
@TechConnectify @hybridhavoc lmao gottem dude
Would be really sick if we just built super tall in America, no more expanding into farm land, no more car dependency, more parks, healthier population, more local shops thriving, just fucking imagine guys

@hybridhavoc Yes, verbatim,
"I see, the commitment to 'free speech' is just as unwavering as the commitment to "release dates."

Methinks (hopes?) they might be starting to realize how shitty this looks and maybe to defend it would be undeniable bootlicking.
