Playing the translation-patched Densha De Go! 64 on my iPad.
15 year old me wouldn’t believe this for a second.
Enjoyed the original on the Mega Drive, so when I saw this remake (remaster?) had gotten a cheap physical release thought I’d give it a go.
Played about an hour or so last night and it’s a lot of fun. Easier than a lot of shooters you get these days, but that’s just fine by me (and there’s extra difficulty levels if you want them).
A little bit rough around the edges - random achievements that I haven’t completed keep unlocking for some reason, for example - but a nice game.
I’ve played a lot of State of Decay 2 today.
I like it, it’s a nice “busywork” game - it’s satisfying to tick things off your list, clearing up the map and gradually taking back the area from the zombies…
BUT…
When I’ve finished playing, I always feel the same way I do whenever I spend a bit too long doom scrolling on my phone.
It’s an empty experience. Box-ticking of the highest order. A Ubisoft or Sony AAA open world experience, sans story. Empty calories.
All this talk of Evercade recently had me looking at some of the carts I want but still haven’t got round to buying…
Saw the stock levels for the first Sunsoft Collection were plummeting, so caved and ordered it last night.
Another late night game purchase I’ll have to explain to the wife later today when it comes… 😂
I know everyone mostly uses Backloggd to keep a track of the games they’re playing, but I’ve just discovered that IGN have their own version called IGN Playlist.
It’s really user friendly and includes their reviews and HowLongToBeat stats.
Most importantly, it actually has an app that makes it much easier to use which (as far as I’m aware) Backloggd doesn’t.
