I’ve played a lot of State of Decay 2 today.

I like it, it’s a nice “busywork” game - it’s satisfying to tick things off your list, clearing up the map and gradually taking back the area from the zombies…

BUT…

When I’ve finished playing, I always feel the same way I do whenever I spend a bit too long doom scrolling on my phone.

It’s an empty experience. Box-ticking of the highest order. A Ubisoft or Sony AAA open world experience, sans story. Empty calories.

@BillyCupid This is one of those that I enjoyed playing, because of who I was playing with, as opposed to what I was actually playing. Just cutting about with a few friends, scavenging, killing zombies, watching an ambulance glitch and go into orbit, landing next to one of my pals and scaring the shit out of him.
@CherryLambrini that’s probably where I’m going wrong, I’m not really a multiplayer guy.
@BillyCupid Me neither tbf. If my friend ever wants to play something, I'll do it just so I can hang out. If it turns out that it's good, it's an added bonus.
