"While the entire indictment evokes the Watergate-era cliche, 'It's not the crime, it's the cover-up,' there's another Nixonian catchphrase that applies here as well: Hal Holbrook’s Deep Throat, in the movie All the President’s Men, speaking of the Nixon White House: 'The truth is, these are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand.'" https://www.publicnotice.co/p/trump-classified-documents-indictment-explained
These are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand

For Trump, it's both the crime(s) and the cover-up.

@Popehat If we refuse to prosecute powerful criminals like Donald Trump because we’re afraid of their followers, the US is already gone.

The argument against prosecuting is an argument from cowardice.

It is sometimes said that kindness costs you nothing, so be kind. But often kindness does come at a cost, often takes effort, and it is still worth being kind. It may be worth even more, in that way.
Emperor Haile Sellassie is generally remembered outside of Ethiopia for a powerful League of Nations speech. But this lesser known statement is equally relevant today:

One of the funniest interactions I see online, is when Americans think it's inspirational that a young white US child is raising money not to buy themselves something, but to pay off their less privileged classmates' "school lunch debt."

US readers are like 🤗"Oh that's so precious! That sweet kid has a good heart!"

And EU readers are like 😮"Wait a minute... Go back a few steps... WTF is school lunch debt?! That's a real thing?! What is wrong with your country?!"

A warrior is not defined by the fights they have won, but by what they fight for. Stand for those less privileged, stand for the powerless. Stand for honor, or you stand for nothing at all, and are worth even less.
@cypnk @onepict Why on earth is such a device even in that setting? 🤷🏽‍♂️
It does not matter whose words you use to justify your position. It matters not what document or book you choose to justify your actions. No appeal to the words of others absolves you of your duty to honor. If your deeds are dishonorable, the dishonor is yours and yours alone.

I’ve started watching #BattlestarGalactica with my girlfriend (a re-watch for me, her first watch). She’s been using the words frak and frakking on a regular basis now. I’m so proud!
