Jack Smith, Donald Trump, and the Kobayashi Maru

How Should The Rule of Law Approach No-Win Scenarios?

The Popehat Report

@Popehat If we refuse to prosecute powerful criminals like Donald Trump because we’re afraid of their followers, the US is already gone.

The argument against prosecuting is an argument from cowardice.

@Green_Footballs @Popehat I once got the chance to say pretty much exactly that, directly to Barack Obama, in 2009. If we don’t do this now (following the W. regime), we will face the same and worse from the very next Republican president. You’d almost guarantee it.

Not. Interested.

Hope things have changed.

@KagroX @Green_Footballs @Popehat Lest we forget: W. is a disgusting war criminal and the Obamas themselves have done a lot to sanitize his image.

Former guy has decimated GOP. Only back stop is the rest of us
@Green_Footballs Plus, the rich and powerful should, if they do the crime, do the time. Too often, they do the former, evade the latter, like Trump family tax fraud.
@Green_Footballs @Popehat
It’s also an argument FOR mob rule.
