@viticci Slide Over was such a big loss on iOS 26. I went from being able to pull up my calculator instantly, to faffing around with windows for 5 minutes trying to lay them all out. This is great news!
@heals yeah, if you built the OS in that way, I don’t see why not. The Xbox Series X|S consoles have quick resume, which is just a fancy save state. Windows has hibernate, which already does that. So it should be doable on other systems.
@heals I’m fairly certain it’s because it’s turned off? If I remember correctly, “sleep” mode actually captures a save state and then shuts down the system, before doing the reverse when waking from “sleep”.
@jonathanreed@macstories the lack of Apple Intelligence on device and requiring an iPhone nearby is disappointing. I wonder if that’ll be the “big new feature” of the Apple Watches this September? Or is that a step too far with the pace of current AW chipsets?
