Just turned on my Analogue Pocket for the first time in over a year (yes life got in the way..) and it still has 41% charge.

Find me a single portable gaming device nowadays that lasts over a year in standby and is still holds almost half of it's charge.

@heals I’m fairly certain it’s because it’s turned off? If I remember correctly, “sleep” mode actually captures a save state and then shuts down the system, before doing the reverse when waking from “sleep”.

@Beever very likely but there's no reason modern day consoles shouldn't do the same no?

I guess some would even do if not for fancy power-nap stuff that wakes your system, connects to ethernet/WiFi and tries to install updates and shit.

There's really no good reason to not completely turn a system off after saving a sleep-image unless you really need those things :)

@heals yeah, if you built the OS in that way, I don’t see why not. The Xbox Series X|S consoles have quick resume, which is just a fancy save state. Windows has hibernate, which already does that. So it should be doable on other systems.
@Beever jep, took me a while to realise that for the X|S because I'm too used to my PS5 shouting at me for (accidentally) pulling the plug while it is in Standby.. Or my switch draining in a week just because I forgot to turn on Airplane mode before putting it aside.
@heals if MS do ever release their proper handheld, then it has to have Quick Resume/deep sleep. It’d be a killer feature for the system.
@Beever if they offer xcloud / gamepass access on it my wallet will certainly have a problem
