Kirsten VerdelEr stond 1 augustus een lang stuk in de Volkskrant dat stelde dat Trumps 'de grote winnaar van de strijd om de wereldhandel' is. Ik reageerde daar op met een opiniestuk, dat de Volkskrant echter niet wil plaatsen.

Peter Giesen schreef 1 augustus in de Volkskrant over Trumps 'politieke talent' in de wereldhandel. Hij presenteerde Trump als een winnaar die andere landen succesvol intimideert met importheffingen. Maar wat verstaat Giesen eigenlijk onder 'politiek talent'? Want de economische realiteit van 2025 vertelt een heel ander verhaal.

Thom, exceedingly pureThe Netherlands, one of the wealthiest countries on earth, is letting asylum seekers sleep outside because our government wants to create the illusion we have an "asylum crisis" so they can enact emergency legislation that will bypass the Lower House and Senate - effectively giving them full control.
The current secretary of immigration overseeing all of this? A literal, self-admitted nazi who supports and spreads the great replacement fable.
That's what my country has come to. Almost 500 years of progress towards a more perfect society down the drain - not from forces without, but from traitors within.
Blow up the dykes, turn off the pumping stations, and let the sea swallow it all.
