If you are called to be a juror, you have no obligation to declare someone guilty, EVEN IF you are certain they did it.
This is a built-in feature of the system that judges don't like to discuss. A jury can declare someone innocent simply because they disagree with the law.
As immoral, oppressive, and fascist laws targeting marginalized groups are being passed, we must remember this tool. Talk to people you know because the more people are aware of this, the more likely one of those 12 jurors will be too.
And remember, this doesn't have to be for the more extreme recent examples. Together we can stop bullshit life sentences for petty drug crimes and all manner of oppressions.

Um excuse me what the fuck. I don’t like that my phone is aware that I browse these things often specifically whilst I eat breakfast. I don’t like that despite having turned off most location permissions, Apple still has this data. Fucking creeps.

Nationalise healthcare, energy, finance, mining, railways, freight companies, and package delivery. The trends towards monopoly in capitalism are only growing; regulation might stem the tide for a while, but given these corporations wealth and power, they will buy pols who will deregulate for their pay-masters. Our democracy is perpetually subverted by the interests of profit, and if we are to save it, we need socialism.

@rbreich nationalise them all! Capitalism breeds monopoly anyway, so why should’ve we establish a monopoly that’s geared towards the best interests of the nation, not towards profit? Capitalism subverts democracy- trying to save it is like nursing the cuckoo in the nest hoping it will be grateful, but this cuckoo is also destroying the goddamn planet. Save democracy; end large-scale capitalism.
@rbreich or perhaps we might start nationalizing key industries, including the finance sector, and tell those executive parasites to get real jobs! No one should have enough wealth to oppress others nor to subvert democracy itself.
