Uneasy sleep last night as my brain kept trying to write limericks while I was asleep (no, me neither). Most disappeared on waking, but this one stuck:
There was a young woman from Leith
Whose house was constructed from teeth.
Her neighbours were wary,
As was the tooth fairy,
In case there were gums underneath.
Glasgow Science Festival programme now live - celebrating 850 years of the city of Glasgow. Runing from the 5th to 15th June 2025 with the theme ‘Glasgow Celebrates’, the packed programme features 100’s of events and activities in 50+ venues across the city.

Scientists with #ESAEuclid have discovered an Einstein Ring gravitational lens in a nearby NGC galaxies - something very rare, unexpected, and beautiful. NGC 6505 bends space, turning the image of a background galaxy into a ring.

Dear astro folks,
with the current crackdown on science in the US, we probably cannot rely on all services provided to the scientific community from the US to function properly in the future and we may need to think about moving them elsewhere. What services would you think of that are essential. NASA funded ADS comes to my mind first. What else and what are the alternatives?
