Legs. My photography prompt this week is #highkey. The white background one definitely is. What about the black background one? I was going for low key there, but I think the subject's too bright to qualify. In terms of a "key light" it might be high key as well, just with a black background? #highkeyphotography #lowkey #legs #52Frames #bnw #blackandwhite #blackandwhitephotography

Both my kids are in a pre-professional theatre program at a local theatre school. Yearly headshots are part of it, and this year they went with a different photographer than in past years. And the headshots are awful. The poses are bad, and the editing is horrid.

What's the best way to provide feedback?

I've edited the same shots myself, and in 15 minutes made them way better. Argh.

It's Dec 31st and "year-in-review" time! Here's my selection for top photos I've taken (top 11 because I can never choose just 9). #TopNine

The mural and chandelier of the Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver, BC

This is the view south from Sinaasiurvik. Sinaasiurvik is on the southern mouth of Elwin Inlet. It is in Sirmilik National Park and is a protected cultural site, with qarmat (sod houses) and tent rings and other structures. It has been occupied for generations, right up to modern times.

The view is the coast of Admiralty Inlet. the cliffs are called Qaqulluit after the large Northern Fulmar colony they are home to. It is also a Glaucous Gull colony. If you look closely you can see some 1/

The Canada Chain and Forge company occupied several buildings on what is now Granville Island in #Vancouver, BC starting from 1923. After the island's conversion from an industrial land to a multi-use artisanal space in the late 1970s, the manufacturer moved off the island and left behind several examples of its work. This weathered, rusty anchor with several chain links is mounted beside the walkway under the Granville St Bridge. #52frames #52frames_wabisabi #GranvilleIsland
