@denniskoch of course you have the right to distract and say crazy things The 1st amendment does protect that speech. The government does not have the right to determine what news is or how it is reported, nor can it squash news that is unflattering to itself or other entities. Still, I feel like our constitutional rights are being violated because we have incredibly free access to information, but that info is preventing all of us from fulfilling the promise of the constitution.

@denniskoch add in the big money from sponsors, corporate owners and they lose so much credibility. Network news used to operate at a loss in order to keep the news untainted by special interest. If this country keeps treating news as a platform for all 1st amendment protected speech, then we are fucked. The 1st amendment is about the right for people to speak truth to power, not the right to distract from the scandals of the powerful, or the right to yell fire in a crowded movie theater.
