On some regards, #Mastodon is totally useless & enclosed.

Here on mastodon.social, when you sarch for basic stuff like the #Vim hashtag ...there is literally nothing comming out. Just some empty variations.

How do you even do a "global search"?

If impossible, the whole thing is officially useless unless you follow your friends and just want to share pics and same board politic posts.

Aaaand, out of nowhere, just before 2023 I started making #YouTube videos, and my two first ones are about #Vim :

Best or worst idea, I don't know yet, but hopefully someone will see them.

In some regards, #Mastodon is indeed like "early #Twitter" ...when we used to tweet yet nobody was really reading this and even less respond to it.

So, yeah, yelling into the void again.

Every developer working in the web should know how to approach thinking through what’s on the page — how to turn content into boxes.

I see many duplicates posts between #Twitter and #Mastodon.

Are people on Twitter and "auto post here their tweets" or really here and "pretend to still tweet" ???

Are you here? :)

Best practices for writing code-comments by Ellen Spertus: https://bit.ly/codecmts

Often, comments should only answer questions code can't (e.g. the "why")

Best practices for writing code comments

While there are many resources to help programmers write better code—such as books and static analyzers—there are few for writing better comments. While it's easy to measure the quantity of comments in a program, it's hard to measure the quality, and the two are not necessarily correlated. A bad comment is worse than no comment at all. Here are some rules to help you achieve a happy medium.

Currently Masto.host is experiencing the highest volume of traffic that has ever reached the infrastructure.

The service is partially degraded and I will be doing fast upgrades on the platform.

These can lead to partial downtime, errors and large delays in support requests.

Really sorry. Doing the best I can on my end. Hope you understand. Thanks.
