I started reading about the history of US #colonialism in South America over the last century. Yesterday, I found out a gallery owner in town emigrated from #Chile. I asked her to tell me about Pinochet. According to her, Allende was trying to kill all the poor people so Pinochet came in and saved them.
Now, I'll admit to being an ignorant fool, but I'm pretty sure that's not accurate.
I've been eyeing a copy of the Pinochet File; any other recommendations?

@revolt3d I've had the same notion floating around my head since I first heard about the mass exodus of folks out of the state. Upsetting the delicate balance can have some unintended consequences!
