Former librarian retired by ME/cfs. Artist emerging from hibernation. Isolated. Things I'm grateful for: a roof over my head, #art, #music, and friendships I've made through my online communities. Kindness always.

Disabled, not disposable.

Pronouns: she/her

Pic: Black and white photo of my face partially covered with my hand. One eye is visible as I look at the camera.
Header: A squirrel sitting at open door of bright blue dumpster.

It’s been a few months since I’ve posted. Here’s a Lucas pic to make up for it.
Think the Byzantine and Medieval images of Jesus (I am only comparing hands here lol) with the first 2 fingers up. The docs have said it isn't the Duchenne (sp?) contracture thing. I have hEDS so usually I can bend all of my fingers way back. #NEISvoid #medical
Little self conscious, but this is my first sketch in over a decade. Done with limited graphite and supplies. Have ordered what I was missing, so will draw her again after I've gotten back into it more. I miss Evie. A lot. I guess the artist might be inching out of hibernation.

I know ppl on Mastodon comment often on how positive it is here. I do see the difference, but also wonder how many are censoring out the not positive things happening with them. I mean, things are not good for me right now. Majorly. I'll post some cute stuff in between to break it up and throw in CWs for those that don't want to see it, but this is my actual life.

Here's a cute throwback Evie picture. *she was not able to order the product:

I need Evie so much, but Evie is gone. I know I need animal connection badly, but it feels too soon. It's been over over a month and a half and it is still too soon. I'm so alone without an animal companion. How do you decide when to find another animal? I think it will always be too soon. Even as an animal person, the connection I had with her was beyond anything I can imagine experiencing again. Advice welcome.

We're guessing she's 13 years old-ish (we adopted her from a shelter when she was 5, but they were guessing at her age) and she's my baby. We'll take her to her vet in the morning as soon as they open. I'm just worried.
I always forget #Caturday but not today! Evie napping in her chair (Yep, it's all hers).
