@CiaraNi I did exactly this not long ago, I had already migrated to proton mail and all my photos are stored in a repurposed dell PC turned into a server, 6 TB of storage is more than enough for a family of 3, the only thing i need to do is delete my Microsoft account, once i have updated my online accounts to my proton email address is bye bye MSfT , my google account has a fake name so i dont care about that one, no contacts on google, no photos on google photos. All in my private server now.
As a person who has never ever used Spotify, I very much prefer owning my music and paying for the media that gives the band/musician a higher royalty than Spotify, Apple Music, etc. Also i dont need to be online all the time, we allowed this for the sake of convenience but in reality we are just making it more difficult for ourselves.
@elementary I'm on KDE plasma , but what I have pinned is Firefox, Thunderbird, Discord, Kate, Terminal, LibreOffice Writer and Dolphin
@kralcttam dang, that sucks, so what happens if the person doesn't use social media?
