I was attacked two days ago in Newton MA by a self-described "terrorist hunter" with a fake Nazi license plate (mv 1488 MA) on his white pickup: while I was riding my bike he intentionally doored me, and then later punched me in the face. It occurred to me this morning that it has now been over a decade in which we have all been forced to hear something about Donald Trump every fucking day - often many times a day.

There are people in journalism who have no experience of a world in which we actually covered many different topics in a day.

I feel like I've been mentally force fed McDonalds for ten years non-stop.

I would like it to be over before I die, please.

If there were a democrat in the white house the stock market would be tanking right now at the news of supply chain chokepoints in oil. But, under Trump the market has reacted much less. It's easy to make the mistake of thinking of the market as a force of nature but it's really just the aggregated decisions of a few thousand wealthy people and institutions.

People spend $40,000 (plus $1200 / year on insurance, and $2,000 / year on gas) on a car to drive to work at 30 mph due to traffic instead of spending $600 to ride an e-bike to work at 30 mph.

I'm not saying this to be smug; my office is 23 miles away, I go there 2x a week, it takes a full hour. I drive by myself and look around at all the other cars with one person in them.

In high school my friend Allison coined the phrase "Airwolf Effect" for the Frequency Illusion, that if someone mentions "Airwolf" then suddenly many other people will, too. She would shorthand it to just "Airwolf" whenever something random came up more than once in a period of time.

I always thought that "Airwolf" was a second rate "Knight Rider" but now, looking at IMDB I see that both are cut-rate "Magnum P.I." which is the cultural touchstone of this genre.

I’m not trans. As far as I know, my kids aren’t at the moment. Nobody in my family is. None of my good friends are. I don’t prescribe medication for gender affirming care. I don’t specifically treat folks for gender dysphoria. So why do I give a fuck?

You don’t punch down. There’s no transgender machine producing trans judiciary and trans politicians and trans PACs to come for my cisgender. There are trans folks being discriminated against, outed, beaten, jailed, and killed. I hate bullies.
