I'm Chris. Having too much of my identity wrapped up in what I'm doing probably isn't the best, so "Hi!"

Reliance on LLMs - and to a certain extent other generative AI, but I see this problem with LLMs specifically most often - is basically voluntary and self-inflicted degenerative illness.

@50htz

It's almost done, but the good news is that I am back on it at full speed, with the simulator, first.

I leave my Ronja's tests for now (By the way, I have made progress to find suitable LEDs, after chatGPT "hallucinated" the led it recommended me in the first place).

Any news from your JTAG probe USB driver issue by the way ?

I took a session off as DM of my Thursday night game. It took 2 DMs to replace me 😀

the people's permacomputer project is crowdfunding AUD$500 for some prototypes, which backers will receive.

Every morning, I open the only proactive moderation tool available to #MastoAdmin folks, and every morning, I wish we had better tools.

The fact these accounts all use the username "J" and yet there is no way to search for that and only that? It's infuriating how little the leaders of this project care for the people keeping our servers online.

These problems are getting worse every month. Queer instance admins are growing especially exhausted. GIVE US TOOLS THAT WORK!

@ekaitz_zarraga the problem I've found with modern stuff is that unlike last 30-40 years where same components were available for decades, it seems that chips/modules are barely in production for 2-5 years and then get declared obsolete (sometimes without a replacement or one in completely different form factor), so you could design something one year but not be sure if you can replicate it the next year (or even a few months down the line)

does anyone know any good crowd funding websites?

the project is ready to build a proof-of-concept, and then make units available to ship to anyone interested.

happy to prepare a business prospectus statement, but probably unnecessary.

cost per unit is probably going to be around AUD$50, ready to boot BASIC when the user turns it on the first time.

really, not much money will be needed.

How much memory is available at boot? · Issue #2 · arduinousergroupcagliari/RVPC_TinyBasic

The system has 2K RAM -- how much is available after the system boots?

It won’t replace your beloved Rasbperry Pi, but it’s worth saying hello to this “Strawberry Jam”, straight out of Japan. It’s an equally delicious way to get people in…
