It's a sign of troubling times that it is now much less clear which jurisdictions this is targeted at.

I once turned on Contact Key Verification and thought it might be helpful. I've glanced at it sometimes, and it seemed alright.

But this vague warning is just a cardinal sin for a public key system. I guess I'll just turn it off and never turn it on again?

@gruber regarding your piece on the DMA and "save to Home Screen": there is no note on that because the feature has been killed in the latest beta. Existing bookmarks now redirect to your default browser directly.
There is a notification on first launch and then it just acts like a bookmark.

It's a lack of care that we have so much vulnerable software. Hopefully the new EU legislation will fix that. @bert_hubert
Tell me again, how does this relate to #privacy ? So I tell you more myself, so that you can tell others more about me? Doesn't really seem "enhanced" to me...

So a "Background item" was "added". You can find out more in the Login Items, where it's listed as "sh", along with another item that is also listed as "sh".

Clicking on the little "i" iconreveals `/bin/sh`.

That's... not helping.
