i've been cracking myself up all day thinking about a very serious d&d bard character whose main instrument is a kazoo
@snoothy Please do this, I beg of you. We can retcon your character no problem.
@Quinntessential i feel like this would be a very different character than Feather because this character is veeeery serious about their Art!! and Feather is pretty much the opposite of serious. but if you want me to make Kazoo Bard my new character... I can try to make that happen for you :P
@snoothy Maybe there will be a NPC cameo of a srs bsns kazoo bard at some point.

@snoothy "I will now perform the epic ballad of Gargamelosh."

Toooootttttttbbbbbzzzzzzz

@hummingrain it was inspired by this video my friend showed me https://youtu.be/XAg5KjnAhuU

@snoothy What about a vuvuzela?

@westwind oh my goddd. that can be one of the other instruments they know.

skills include: honking

@snoothy and they snap their fingers a lot for rhythm and it's just embarrassing for the rest of the party cuz they get super into it but they're not even really keeping a steady beat.
@mykola i was thinking that instead of earning their living by playing music for people, they just show up at places and play and people give them money to stop making that godawful noise
@snoothy but they refuse, even when it's spelled out explicitly, to believe or acknowledge that anyone finds their music in any way unpleasant. They have this ongoing cognitive dissonance that they apply to everything. (+3 will save?)

@mykola i really really want to play this character now omg

i want to give them the hermit background too

they've spent the last 20 years locked in a cabin in the woods perfecting their art...

the art of the KAZOO

@snoothy what if their horrible noise is actually strangely effective at barding?

What if they really DID spend 20 years mastering the instrument? The fact that it sounds horrible isn't a detriment, it's like having a really ugly sword, right?

@snoothy @mykola They were on a pilgrimage to learn the music of nature, and found perfection in the most majestic of birds: DUCKS.
