@brandon It means that you have endless data for those apps. Yes, some countries have plans like this.
You get some "internet" data allowance with your plan but it's not enough, that's why these do sell.

@pinkprius Oh phew. I mean, if I could pay for unlimited data for certain services and it was cheaper than having universal data, then that'd be cool

The problem I see with that is it creates an unfair advantage for those services and makes it harder for new services to enter the market

What if I want to use #owncloud (or #nextcloud) instead of #dropbox. What if I use #mastodon instead of #twitter.

Still,  (as said) .. i'm also using #Syncthing in order to sync my Android #Linux & PC & Server . It works like charm . Like #p2p ... naturally .

I also used it in order toe sync two servers folders. #Sweet .
