Anyone have experience with cats and casts? My cat broke her ulna or radial bone (can't remember) and she is in a stint/cast thing. Its way too long and she can't walk, eat, or drink, or use the cat box without help.
Is there any way to help her not step in her own feces and urine? I'm going to be with her a lot but I have appointments and stuff where she'll be alone and caged with her cat box, water, food. She has to wear this thing for 4 weeks.

The vet didn't mention that there would be issues with anything other than her possibly chewing on it. She was completely self reliant before the stint and bandage was put on, other than having issues jumping up and down and limping (which is why we brought her in). Now she meows in pain whenever the thing hits a wall, and it drags behind her when she walks or tries to get into the cat box. I can't see this being doable for 4 weeks. Aside from the pain, the thing is gonna get disgusting.
Oh it's a splint not a stint..
