TIL There's an ISO standard for brewing tea

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_3103

"ISO 3103 is a standard published by the International Organization for Standardization (commonly referred to as ISO), specifying a standardized method for brewing tea, possibly sampled by the standardized methods described in ISO 1839"

And Ireland wasn't happy because it omitted prewarming the pot:
"Ireland was the only country to object, and objected on technical grounds"

@cypnk There's also an unofficial NATO standard which is tea with milk and two sugars
@troubleMoney This should be the common ground for forging long-lasting peace between nations
@cypnk Always remember to wear the proper PPE when brewing and drinking tea
@cypnk As authored by Douglas Adams I suppose 🤔😄
@cypnk The infinite improbability drive didn't run any better if you pre-warmed the pot, hence the absence of that step from the ISO standard
@cypnk @gdkar Are you familiar with RFC2324, the HyperText Coffee Pot Control Protocol? http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc2324.html
