@dogtrax @tellio @taniasheko there are no rules.
and the walls are not real either. Borders and boundaries, we speak right through them.
For me a small story is anything that I would like to share - sometimes they just spill out, the stories. Sometimes they are actually small, and other times they are part of larger stories. In my experience, they are always a part, whether a glimpse into or reflection of some part of me.
@katebowles oh, I'd love to see it
@ShorterPearson @econproph @Tdorey @taniasheko @tellio @dogtrax
@taniasheko many texts are from toots- just from our own stories. And the lovely thing is that people didn't 'plan' their stories to become anything more.
I love that smallstories has a humble beginning. @tellio @dogtrax @Tdorey @econproph @ShorterPearson @katebowles

To me #smallstories have an accidental quality, a found moment in the day. Their smallness is this unintended/untended quality. They're not dinner table stories for me, or campfire tales, so much as a happenstance thing that someone stopped for.
But they're not the only way we tell stories and I feel myself now thinking about the overall weave of storying that makes a community come into itself.
@tellio What about something like the recently closed Cowbird?!?!!?
I so long to post audio.
I am reminded of a story shared by my friend Geoffrey about his daughter: http://cowbird.com/story/15057/Lily/?uiid=widget-1763500744-15057
@katebowles @taniasheko @dogtrax @Tdorey @econproph @ShorterPearson
@tellio @dogtrax @taniasheko @lauraritchie @Tdorey @econproph @ShorterPearson That's what I wondered, about sharing curation.
Something about this whole process for me is about learning new things, both how-to things and storywork things.
@katebowles @blamb @Tdorey @ShorterPearson @econproph @taniasheko @dogtrax @tellio @lauraritchie There's splot-ability here (splot+possibility). I've wanted to make a combo of the image http://splot.ca/splots/tru-collector/ and sound one http://splot.ca/splots/tru-sounder/ + video (did 1 for Bryan J).
Need to parse time to do this.
@cogdog yes please!

for editing collaborativly videos or for 'just' curation?
for the last one you could go with a wordpress page. there some themes specific for that topic.
If you care bit more on free software: #mediagoblin

I go away for a couple of days and you all explode with conversation! About to get on a plane but will try tomorrow to tease through this string to figure out what crazy scheming y'all have been up to.
@tellio @dogtrax @taniasheko @lauraritchie @econproph @ShorterPearson @katebowles . Starting a YouTube channel for now so as to not lose everything might be a great start.
Working on ideas for a space for these pieces which might involve uploading to YouTube and then embedding in Wordpress. I *think* we'd be able to feed in stories written here as well. Might also serve as a "way in" to Mastodon for interested folks.

Great things to consider.
I don't love the YouTube option, but also don't currently have another suggestion for larger video files.
@Tdorey it may be a very naive suggestion, but can we make a category on Archive.org You can upload any size there....
@katebowles @ShorterPearson @econproph @taniasheko @tellio @dogtrax
@dogtrax I post stuff there for my classes, because you can set the licenses to whatever version of CC that you want :)
(should have pasted link earlier...)
