It's weird how child labor is acceptable in filmmaking but not most other fields. There's an alternate happentrack not too far from ours where TV kids are all played by very short adults, and everyone just accepts it as convention.
@mogwai_poet Reminds me of how I have trouble seeing characters "killed off" from a long-running series because I cannot not see it as someone getting fired expressly in order to entertain me.
@jmac Does it help if you picture the character's death as an amicable parting of ways?
@jmac @mogwai_poet Is it easier when the character is immediately replaced with a functionally identical character, making it clear that the writers wanted the character to stay but the actor quit?
