Who loves the instance they're on? And why? (Bonus points if you're not an administrator of said instance, but I'll take those, too.)
@xor just chose a bigger open one. No theme, rhyme or reason. Still nothing after a few weeks. Nothing connecting the instance. Could almost care less about the instance. Fake grouping
@xor I love maly.io because our admin, @KindlyFire, has crafted a place where we don't have to worry a bunch about censorship and what we're missing.
@xor I love my hex.bzers. We get bz casting hexes. :sparkles:

@xor I love this instance because it's mine, I can fiddle with it and I can do exactly the things I feel like doing. I have an unconstrained window into the Fediverse.

Which I then probably don't do anything outside of codes of conduct with anyway.

@KitRedgrave I might set up my own but I kind of want to wait until the pace of updates slows a little. I'm not much of a sysadmin, sadly
@xor it definitely isn't the easiest path, for sure. but you learn some things doing it :)
@xor tilde.town itself is just a great community so I'm enjoying this as an extension of that!
@xor I love my instance because it's just your basic unfettered, no frills, no pigeon-holed access to the Mastoverse. No lag, no downtime, no worries. Love it. (just an average guy, not an admin or mod)
@xor ... I just like the name :(
@xor of the instances I'm on, I most love awoo.space because it's a caring environment and it takes user safety very seriously.
@xor I do. I like it because it's the first node I got access to (before I knew there were other nodes - I was a little cold on the idea of GNU Status, et al because I saw too many instances come and go and be forgotten). First imprints are strong. So far, the people and posts are interesting here; it's not constant news-trauma like on birbsite.

@xor Me because it doesn't try to carve or mold my mind into any particular cast except for the basic principle of be respectful/don't be a jerk...

...Oh, and also, plenty of storage & RAM :smile::smile:

@xor xyz has so many French people that I'm actually using my French for the first time in years! It rocks!
@xor If I lost this site, I'd probably just give up on Mastodon entirely. I'm sick and tired of playing social network fiddler crab and having to leave everything behind just because the handful of people I actually know there have moved on and I don't want to lose touch with them.
@xor I love being on https://social.heldscal.la/ , because this is where #pleroma happens. It's also a place with legs in both the grittier and the nicer places of the #fediverse, just like myself. We're not filtering, yet we're (almost) not filtered.
@xor I do. Laziness, and I serendipitously found I rather like the terms of use on this instance.
@xor not sure, I just picked up the one that appeared on my timeline on Twitter. We will see how it goes
@xor my instance is just a nice, quiet friendly place, a little techy, a little multicultural, and a bunch canadian. It's just nice to hang out here. @thurloat is doing a good job keeping it up.
@xor Because I run my own single user instance, I have complete control over my data and I don't have to trust someone else (no offense intended to instance admins) with my data
@xor I love it because that's the most popular instance, and I came before registrations were closed :D
@xor I love awoo.space because it's a neat little quiter place to spend time on when stressed.
meow.social is, well, made by a friend, originally specifically for a chat group I administrate, so, uh, can't not love that!
Also the furry fandom stuff that plays into both of those.
@xor I can't say that I "love" @Gargron's Mastodon.social yet, but I like knowing that he's at the helm, making sure that the instance is up-to-date, but not so fresh that it keeps breaking.
@xor I'm admin on my own (single-user) instance, and I love it because it's SO EASY to update to the latest code.
@xor mine has pizza in the name
@xor I'm on two instances now. Wanted to see if there was a difference. So far, they're pretty much the same, probably because I spend most of my time on Federated.
@xor I like my instance because it's mine, on my own domain name :)
@xor I haven't worked out what difference it makes yet and may decide to migrate should I feel the need for more literary types or some such. Still, I was soaking up something about security on Twitter, learning as somebody who had been an uninformed user of technology for years, and I'll get a lot more of it here.
.@xor I love the instance I'm on because I deployed it on the open source PaaS that I write code for! Every step of the way I got to be involved. I'm proud of myself!
@xor mastodon.cloud is pretty #japanese now and then. My Japanese is just basic... It's entertaining, but nothing special as of yet. Looking to make more of my home feed than the local timeline.... #mastodon# #instance
@xor Icosahedron.website is great! We love stellated polyhedra! (I'm not the head honcho, @halcy is, so bonus points)
@xor toot.cat is pretty great; everyone on it seems nice, has a good code of conduct, and @polymerwitch has been doing very visible shepherding.
@xor Love the one i am on cause it is socialism :) would really like to see coops build one for coops too...might spin that idea up with other coops
@xor I love mine, but as you said I won't get any bonus points (:
@xor No admin, but i give money to pay for the server, so I'm still biased

@xor

mastodon.cloud

Big enough to contain:
* many languages
* many opinions
* lots of choice
* a window to the larger federation
