@flungo interesting thread... Twitter has become a major archive, so I understand the need. Sofar I treat mastodon a a fire and forget service. And I archive relevant links to turtl or nextcloud. Too many archives for me... :)
@flungo a lot of theses issues were roadblocks for diaspora* too. Had a lot of fun there, but moved away after running our own pod for a while. Became too expensive, had lots of performance problems and federation hiccups.
