I think people are desperately trying to find easy boogeymen for this election that are easily hateable and at the same time allow themselves not to change the way they think at the same time. A horde of former PUA's who secretly want to take over America fit that bill

@tesseraconteur @honsou i agree: while that group by itself isn't enough to win a national election with, they're one of many factors affecting things. even just influencing and poisoning discourse on the left can affect things. (not that the left seems to have much trouble poisoning its own discourse, ofc...)

@tesseraconteur @honsou there's probably not much the left can do specifically about these people, other than just focusing on solving our side's internal problems that need to be solved anyway, and being more willing to engage in discussion with people who don't agree with us. (mind you, that doesn't mean wasting our time on trolls arguing in bad faith, but being less eager to jump on people who probably have their heart in the right place but say something we don't like)
