Hello everyone!

As the new Community Manager, my first question to you is; what changes that’s been made to #Mastodon since April do you think were the best and most important? 🐘

@Mastodon pinned columns was pretty big from a user facing perspective.

Hi and welcome to your new post!

The improvements in overall reliability are what mean the most to me at this point. Everything after confidence that my toots are received and I receive those from others are icing on the cake.

@Mastodon gargamel fixed the emojos!

(more seriously: activity pub is a bfd even if it needs more work)

@Mastodon Not necessarily a change, but the addition of mobile apps. It would seem that so many people use mobile devices these days that apps were necessary to grow, remain relevant and allow ease of use for everyone.
@Mastodon ActivityPub support FTW!!!!
@Mastodon Fixing design mistakes like finally fetching media if cached files have been deleted.
@Mastodon Smoother webapp, push notifications on mobile!
@Mastodon the new community manager ^^
@Mastodon definitely ActivityPub! Having a modern protocol that supports our needs regarding privacy and stuff is really important

@Mastodon None. The problems that _I_ find important are still there. (As a sysadmin, the fact that Mastodon does not try all IP addreses of an instance when one fails, as a user, the rigid layout in four columns, including one useless.)

Also, there are things that could be removed: the ability of an admin to block accounts and entire instances (should be the prerogative of the user).

Issue connecting to dual-stack instances · Issue #3762 · tootsuite/mastodon

It looks like that when mastodon instances like mastodon.rocks publish an IPv6 address (via a DNS AAAA record) but isn't reachable on it, other IPv6 enabled instances can't communicate with...

@Mastodon The switch to actually having tagged stable releases with published changelogs giving proper attribution to contributors. Giving gargron a manager rather than just himself (or just adding more structure to development in general). ActivityPub, per-user instance silencing, slightly better notification management via thread silencing, making mutes affect notifications too, joinmastodon.org,
@Mastodon OH ALSO, there were some important accessibility fixes althugh there's still much to do! we need some good robust keyboard navigation.
@Mastodon The ability to lock certain toots, hide images and put in caution warnings for toots
@Mastodon The awesome "privacy" features
