I am not reading comments on Hacker News because I pretty much remember all the various sentiments from my first "Show HN", and I do not have the energy to also answer questions there

But as others have pointed out, these are all nice problems to have. I am so happy that people are finally using my work at large. <3

@Gargron Any idea what would make local timeline requests take forever to complete, with a lot of CPU time on postgres? Is there any obvious postgres misconfiguration that would do that?

@Gargron just need to make sure to let new users know that they can use other instances. That would ensure that new users don't get turned off from the idea when they hit mastodon.social.
