I'd love something like a #Mastodon instance that's for sharing #photographs (basically like an #Instagram clone), with an app too.

Or perhaps a #photo mode in Mastodon (and its apps) itself? …and, of course, better photo handling by default too.

(BTW: There should be a way to differentiate between sharing a photo you took and some random graphic, naturally.)

@gar8 putting a kind of art on another level from others seems like a bad idea no matter how you look at it
@Shookaite: I mean sharing your own original content versus sharing screenshots or something someone else made. There's definitely a difference, ask any content creator (artist, photographer, illustrator, etc.).
@gar8 content owning and right of reproduction are two different things that can cohabit, and I know it's a very problematic concept on the Internet
However I can't imagine tagging being an effective solution

@Shookaite: I understand that (and probably more than you might realize).

I'd love a non-Facebook (Facebook, Instagram), non-Yahoo! (Flickr), non-Google (Google+, Google Photos) place to share my photographs with friends and for them to share their photographs with me too. Some photograph art they work on too as well as mundane things. (It's not all about photography.)

I'm sure others would like the same too (otherwise the mentioned sites wouldn't exist).
