I don't believe in gender identity.. or homosexual genes. Or sexual orientation.
@kat that's broad, but it sounds scientific if you say it's a spectrum, which it probably is...
@jansegers as a trans person not believing in gender identity  is problematic
@kat @jansegers I know a lot of ppl not believing in gender identit. We call it #postgender
@marcus @kat I was looking for that term thanks !
@jansegers @kat Ivan E. Coyote and Rae Spoon wrote a great book on that topic called 'Gender Failure' or 'Goodbye Gender' in the German translation: http://www.raespoon.com/books
@marcus @jansegers Looking at the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postgenderism I don't like that either.  It seems too technofetishist.
@kat @jansegers yeah, technofetish ;)
@marcus @jansegers We;; I get the attraction, but the reality is often different,  https://quitter.se/attachment/3225730
@kat @jansegers but it's fixable 🤗
@kat I can't help you with that, except for pointing to try to learn and use Toki Pona, a language of 123 words, created for breaking down complex thought
@kat Toki Pona was created by Sonja Elen Kisa, now called Sonja Lang, but born Richard Christian.
@kat it really helped him/her during his/her sex change period.
@kat Toki Pona has been used by some psychiaters in Scandinavia in the same way : reducing complexity by going back to the basics.
@kat So I'm not the only one who thinks this... What lead you to that conclusion?
@kkebreau I believe in gender.  It's imposed on individuals, and used to constrain and restrict people. If it exist in me, it's like a scar
@kat Yes, I do. That sounds a lot like my line of thought on the issue. On one hand, it's liberating to see the variety in expression and...
@kat ...identity that comes out of the transgender community today, but at the same time it feels odd to confine it all to shades of gender.
@kat This sort of thinking lead me to not identify as a gender, as the contrast between genders seemed meaningless to me in a global sense.

@kat the only problem I see is that the usual discourse people are producing almost standardly includes these categories; but all categorizations are fictitious in the end.

A category or a label is just a tool for reasoning in a simplified matter about a for more complex reality.
