TBF, it's very hard to consume ethically under capitalism, even in one subcategory. It's impossible if you don't have a time to make it a hobby/lifestyle.
For example, you can replace X with Mastodon, ofc, but not if you're into following political accounts. Then the alternatives are all commercial, and they're all fascist-adjacent.

I'm not in a situation where I can argue for any standardised meaning of a foreign word. In the context of my previous post, "consumption" includes any resource used, including food.
