Question for anyone who does hiring #HR #HumanResources for #tech or tech-adjacent positions: My company is doing a reorg, and my job title is being changed from "Database Administrator" to "Research Data Analyst Senior" (I work in biomedical research). How do you think this might influence future job prospects, given that my skills are much more aligned with expectations of a DBA than a data analyst? Idk how AI pre-screening and all that works.

@petrosophia Speaking only for myself, when I’m the hiring manager I look at the bullet points more than the title, so if you apply for a DBA role and the Research Data Analyst Senior shows a bunch of DBA operations under your duties and accomplishments, the title won’t affect my assessment.

The caveat is that depends on your resume getting through the HR screening. At my employer we’re not using AI and the HR person doing the screening is good, but that’s sadly not universal.
