I am new to Mastodon, probably like many, a bit frustrated with the usual social media algorithmic censorship, wondering if here it is more holistic and human.

A bit about myself - I am quite fresh in the UK, born and raised in Belarus, during the 'exciting' times of Perestroika, since my mid-20s, lived across several countries - India, Norway, France - taken across borders by my passion for Indian Classical Dance and anthropology, despite political turmoils/visa limitations #introduction

@brunogirin Thank you, Bruno! I'll get to understand how alt4you works

Mastodon allows you to add alt text to any image you include in a post. It is useful for people who can't see it, e.g. people on slow connections, visually impaired people, etc.

A lot of people will simply refuse to boost a post that contains images with no alt text.

#Alt4you is a tag to indicate that you're doing it for someone else as an answer to their post.
