I'm seeing more and more devs wanting to quit their 9-5 by building their own SaaS. Why aren't more of these devs pairing up and working on projects together? There are so many solo builders right now

@bashbunni I suspect it's because they've worked for 10-15 years in an industry that neither supports, encourages, rewards, nor most importantly trains for, collaboration.

They don't know *how* to collaborate, except in the nightmarish cod-collaboration environments they're leaving.

@bashbunni I can't conceive of the idea of revenue for modern software. Facebook? Huge operational costs, give it away for free. GitHub? Huge operational costs, give it away for free. Gmail, same. Firefox? Convince the competitor (Google) to pay you. Unthinkable.

Companies I've worked for typically 'hope' for profitability one day.

OpenAI or Anthropic? I'm already making billions more profit than them, and so are you.
