Up early to get some last minute stuff ready to teach my frugal plant propagation & fertilizer workshop for our 1st Saanich Neighbour to Neighbour Resilience Initiative grant funded, community building event - all outdoors. It starts at 1pm with a home canning workshop, followed by worm composting workshop, then a fermentation & seed saving workshop, a garden tour & then we wrap up the event with my workshop.

We're short on volunteers so I'll also be the one documenting our Saanich Neighbour to Neighbour Resilience Initiative event today. My Mom or the organizer will take over photo documentation when I'm busy teaching the last workshop.

This all started with one idea & having face to face chats with nearby neighbours, all within a 3 block radius.

Everything went well & everyone was happy with our 1st neighbour to neighbour resilience initiative event. I'll post more photos soon. Compiling some notes for the post community event grant report & will work with organizer over next few months to complete that. We are using most of the remaining grant funds to create a neighbourhood community seed library. We are creating a private Signal group with several of our neighbours to continue more community building, right in our neighbourhood 💚🙌
