Yes, there are good garlic knots in Florida
@stephenrobles Siracusa will disagree. Just wait…
@caseyliss @stephenrobles is originally from NY, right? So his opinion could be well-founded. Of course, I don’t know what part of NY, and how old he was when he left…

@siracusa @stephenrobles I know this is going to blow your mind, but it is possible to find exquisite versions of New York staples

…not in New York.

@caseyliss @stephenrobles Possible, maybe! But not likely.
@siracusa @stephenrobles brb collecting my eyes which just ROLLED OUT OF MY HEAD
@caseyliss @siracusa @stephenrobles Don’t get me started on bagels.

@dmoren @caseyliss @siracusa My bona fides:

1. Born in brooklyn

2. Moved upstate near poughkeepsie at 5, frequently visited city with family

3. In college, interned in times square for 2 summers so was in the city 6 days a week.

4. Moved to florida after college at 22

5. Have returned many times since to visit family and brought my kids two years ago

6. I have searched far and wide in FL for good pizza. Several get *close* to NY quality. None match it perfectly, but are very good... 1/2

@dmoren @caseyliss @siracusa
7. For bagels, there is a place called "Uncle Nick's Bagels" in lakelanfloridada, a family transplanted from manhattan, and those are the closet to NY bagels I've found
@dmoren @caseyliss @siracusa You guys should take ATP on the road to central Florida and we'll do a YouTube series where I get 3 chances to convince John there's good pizza here
@stephenrobles @dmoren @caseyliss @siracusa I would upgrade my membership to see a series where the three hosts road trip down to Florida together. There’s no way that wouldn’t be a good series of episodes.
@harpaa01 @stephenrobles @dmoren @caseyliss @siracusa I mean, the Upgrade guys have recently been wildly successful in starting an offshoot podcast using Kickstarter. Should be worth a shot, no?
