I think a lot about this question:

What would happen if, over the next 10 years, we exclusively published in, reviewed for, and served (e.g., as editors, editorial board members, and editorial staff) at Diamond Open Access journals?

Hope to get some responses!

@lrp This is exactly what I have been doing since I got my tenure: I exclusively publish with diamond open access journals, and I tend to quote mainly open access articles.

Many non-tenured professors must follow their college requirements. I do not blame them. Now the goal is to change college requirements for future scholars.

@gonzalo so interesting! The same here since I obtained the position of assistant professor. I started with the idea of "No free view? No review!" (https://nofreeviewnoreview.org/) for peer reviews. About citing only OA/Diamond OA journal articles or works sometimes I’ve wondered what would happen if you specified it in the references section: “for this paper only OA works were used (or even better, diamond OA only)”. For me, great!! I guess many people cite papers they haven’t actually accessed...
