Out of it for a bit - too busy for any social media punctuated by a #microburst #tornado event Friday evening. 5 minutes 8/10” rainfall serious tree damage. One of our big oaks fell west to east uphill onto a power line , which held enough to snap 2 poles. Luckily no hens in daughter’s mobile chicken coop which is under 8-10” caliper tree branches and tops #virginiaisforLovers of wild #weather Very old short leaf pine -no time to count rings yet

@MCDuncanLab any downed tree is so productive. Mushrooms etc and lying in place building human topsoil critical here above clay. #Woodmizer sawmill candidate and outdoor woodstove - we have more than we can use for our home and farm office/studio. DOT will chip what s on shoulder and bring to us for mulch.
