Pauline Hanson's popularity is surging. But before we back her in, can we just get clear on her life's work?

One Nation is often described as a right-wing populist party. But what else does the party actually stand for?

Women's Agenda
@feather1952 that article “missed a bit” (a lot) like Hanson’s domestic violence position, taking perpetrators’ words over their victims’, working against protections, undermining the Family Court (which I believe was axed, returning families to the other non-specialist courts), etc. That article does try to show who she is but it starts out like more promotional material instead of a reality check. Not sure it’ll be read by your target market.

@DarkMatterZine
It did feel a bit ‘promotional’ - as you say. I thought this ⬇️ was the guts of it & should have - could have - led:

“Despite positioning itself as the party looking out for ordinary Australians, One Nation has been opposed to raising wages for Australia’s lowest paid workers. As the Fair Work Commission awarded a 4.75 per cent pay increase to minimum wage earners this month, Hanson said she was opposed to the change. Over the years, Hanson has consistently voted against improvements to workers’ conditions from penalty rates, job security, to criminalising wage theft.”

A pretty telling list there ⬆️
Thanks for sharing this Heather - interesting to see & think thru ON’s record. 🙏🏻

@feather1952

@Su_G @feather1952 True. And wage theft should be criminalised. Imagine: if theft was criminalised, Clive Palmer would be a convicted felon for screwing over QLD nickel employees by transferring $ to his party before closing the company. And we wouldn’t be harassed by Palmer, and PHON might not be such a big thing. PHON and Palmer are only in it to disrupt politics to help LNP and like pollies, but they’re driving decent people left when the truth actually reaches voters.
