Just a friendly reminder that 50 years of "trickle down" has turned millionaires into billionaires, and billionaires into trillionaires.

Meanwhile the minimum wage stayed stagnant and prices skyrocketed on everything from gas to groceries to homes.

The trickle never came.

@Lana

It was trickle up economics all along.

@Lana the trickle down: working class people getting pissed on
@nechesh @Lana ... by guys with prostatitis...
@Lana I think the "conservative" superpower is making people who prioritize their feelings or beliefs over facts think they are the chosen ones, and will share in the spoils someday.
@Lana Maybe we should try Axe down economics
@Lana The trickle is actually the wealthiest pissing on the rest of us. 😒

@Lana

There's definitely a trickle down. The trickle down of the piss of these rich fucks down our collective legs.

@Lana obligatory related classic meme
@Lana it gets more and more relevant over time
@Lana oh, they made it rain. salty and yellow.
@Lana Taxation was the real trickle down all along.
@Lana and that all caused by a spelling error. It originally was spelled *tickle down*. And that is what really happened and what they wanted to achieve.
@Lana just wait a little bit longer.

@ewos1986

You forgot the '/s' 😉

@Lana Trickle down = fake effect. In reality it means impovering millions of people. It's cut-throat capitalism without grace and it will destroy societies and throw them back into dark ages, feudalism.
@Lana power trickles down, wealth flows up
@Lana Well the *monetary* trickle didn't happen, sure.

@Lana there’s a song for that by Irish band, The Sprints..

@Lana they also impoverished Americans en masse and enriched one of their world’s poorest countries by moving manufacturing to China

@Lana

Always trickles up.

@Lana the worst thing is people still adore the billionaires, and foreigners and immigrants get the blame for many problems caused by the filthy rich.
@Lana I don't know, I definitely feel like I'm being "trickled" on.
@Lana “Trickle Down” is oligarchs pissing on you.
@Lana The trickle has always been merely spillover from the dam.
@Lana You're 100% correct. In the 1890s, it was called horse and sparrow economics. It certainly got worse in the last 50 years, but everyone knew it was a scam then and subsequently proved it as such now, repeatedly. The London School of Economics study put the final nail in that coffin definitively.

@Lana "trickle down" always made me think of a demented, incontinent old man.

<cough><REAGAN><cough>

@Lana Seriously though, I learned in highschool history class in the 70s that “trickle down” was discredited. That was the rationale in the Roaring 20s until the Crash of 29. That’s not how it works, and they know it. “Trickle Down” is a baldfaced lie.
@Lana And hollowed out the middle class as it was intended. In the 80s when Reagan was putting these policies in, one of my profs said they were turning the middle class upside down and shaking us. Also that they would eventually come for the big pot of social security money.
