non- #Knitting self-inflicted #yarn tasks:

Today, on my arrival home, I was forced to confront a task I had (admittedly deliberately) not addressed before my departure: the last ball of yarn for the (rather boring) traveling project.

Which project is: 7 different colours of Drops Baby #Merino #knit into a garter stitch rectangle. Think 80-100 rows of knitting for each ball, resulting in fairly fat stripes.

Dull work.

BUT! to add excitement, one can always accidentally drop a jar of homemade Amaretto Cherries due to a particularly well-sealed lid in such a manner that the last ball of yarn gets rather soused with the sticky sauce, then bundle it into a plastic bag because you have to travel, and come back home a week+ later to find it has become an efffective fruit fly lure/trap.

And you have to wind it into a hank from a ball before washing it.

It's drying now.

Ouch, that's a sticky situation, so to speak.
