US and Iran reach peace agreement, Trump announces Strait of Hormuz reopening

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif first announced that the United States and Iran had reached a peace deal ending military operations. Shortly afterward, US President Donald Trump confirmed the agreement, declaring the deal complete and announcing the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the removal of the US naval blockade. The agreement is scheduled to be formally signed in Switzerland on June 19.
