"I work with LEOs"
"I know most LEOs would do better."
"I'm friends with LEO."

First off, those are red flags for all marginalized folks who have had human rights violated by cops.
Secondly, there's very little proof that most cops would do better, when given many opportunities to do so.

STFU with #copaganda crap.

#PoliceApologists

Police apologists support marking autistics - forced to label ourselves on our ID cards. They try to say it is to help us be treated better by cops. That's a load of poop.

#ActuallyAutistic #HumanRights

@PhoenixSerenity 0 evidence that cops would treat us better if they knew. if anything it outs people as particularly vulnerable to their abuse.
@elexia 💯
Reminds me of Hitler Nazis marking disabled folks!

@PhoenixSerenity the only time I can imagine a cop knowing you’re autistic being in any way beneficial is if your behavior is outside allistic standards in such a way that the police believe they can use it as reasonable justification for shooting you, in which case you are already bleeding out on the ground by the time they see your id

so

I’m extremely unsure what this is supposed to accomplish, even in the most charitable possible interpretation

on the other hand at least it is astonishingly easy to understand what it is supposed to accomplish given an even mildly realistic reference frame: enabling discrimination

after all, if it’s there for the cops, it’s there for everyone else too

@PhoenixSerenity

I’ve seen videos of a few examples of how children autistic or not are treated by cops

I don’t have words for it

Almost all police apologists I've encountered are middle aged white men. If you want us to think better of you - stop pushing copaganda BS anywhere.
These cowardly & privileged cop apologists rarely, if ever, spend any time speaking out for victims who were murdered or raped or kidnapped or otherwise had their human rights stomped on, by cops.

@PhoenixSerenity

A-yup.
Body cameras didn't slow them down

@wifwolf I fucking loathe ignorant cop apologists. Almost always - they're white & privileged 🤮

@PhoenixSerenity

Even if 'most cops would do better', the fact of the matter is that the institution as a whole closes ranks around, rallies and supports, and ultimately rewards those police officers who commit harm. If we are to believe that most cops are 'better' than the 'bad apples', then they should be the ones pushing to eject the malefactors.

But they're not. They never are. And that as much as anything speaks to the general 'goodness' -- or more properly, the lack thereof -- of the police, both on an individual level and institutionally.

@theogrin Exactly. It's systematic, corrupted rot. Police unions should be abolished.
