Hey friendiverse! My husband is currently looking for work - he's very good at Linux, cloud, AWS, and networking stuff. He's got an extensive home lab and manages all of our services. Seattle or remote.

But he's bad at networking so I'm trying to leverage my network on his behalf.

Cheers! #getfedihired

@iagox86 @Viss My company (Chainguard.dev) is hiring. Also, here’s a list of companies doing remote, hope it helps! https://taffer.ca/posts/2025/remote/

@iagox86 good at networking, but bad at networking :P

Good luck finding work!

@iagox86 AWS might still be worth something. I hope he's able to find work.
@iagox86 Worth trawling Reddit, and though I hate to say it, LinkedIn is good for leads (watch out for scams, ask around)
@iagox86 yeah I'm looking for work too and I'll fucking take anything but no one is hiring the economy is fucking fake everything is going to shit
@iagox86 If he finds something, keep me in the loop.
@iagox86 sorry my other reply was so doomer I hope you get hired/gen
@iagox86 I can help with a referral to AWS/Amazon in Seattle if he's interested.
@iagox86 good at networking but bad at networking ;)
@iagox86 a sector many don't look to is higher education. They are always looking to hire in the IT field. The pay is usually not as good, but they generally have good benefits (especially if you take advantage of their discounts on courses/degrees offered by the institutions).
@GreatBigTable good idea! He did apply to a UCLA rule that was posted here recently
@iagox86 I got my Masters for free and my wife has picked up some certifications from working at universities. My oldest child is getting his degree at a deep discount and I have two more waiting in the wings. When you factor in that expense it is more comparable. A good portion of my colleagues have all picked up completely subsidized MBAs for the same reason.
@iagox86 good luck to you both.
@iagox86 what kind of role is he looking for? My company has got a couple of senior SRE roles open and a staff platform engineer coming soon.

@odo he's looking for SRE (among other things), but I don't think he wants a "senior" role - he's much more comfortable being an "in the trenches" kinda guy

But if there is a posting somewhere, feel free to Private Mention me and I can put you guys in touch
