House passes $70B bill to fund immigration enforcement for 3 years

House Republicans have passed a nearly $70 billion bill to fund immigration enforcement agencies for the next three years and the rest of President Donald Trump's term in office. The bill now goes to Trump to be signed into law. Democrats oppose the measure,with Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries saying the money would further fund Trump's “violent mass deportation machine.” Meanwhile, Republicans said they were fulfilling their duty to safeguard the nation and support the men and women charged with enforcing the law. The funding comes on top of the nearly $140 billion that the Republican-controlled Congress gave ICE and Customs and Border Protection last year as part of Trump’s massive tax and spending cuts bill.

Well of course, it's implied right there in the moniker "big journalism": they're in on it, they are the propaganda machine. Big Media, Big Journalism, Big Content, Big Advertising, Big Pharma, Big retail, Big Finance... it's already too late to do anything about these but you can always start fresh and not give into this big state machine.

@dangillmor As a journalist in a dictatorship, you quickly learn that either you sing the great leader's praise or you end up in a ditch (or hey, just without a job/access/etc.) Journalists are among the first to get attacked by aspiring dictatorships mainly because they are members of the institution supposed to check the power, reveal it, and question it.
