Edinburgh friends, I'm thinking of buying a bike for the first time in quite a few years (early 50s guy here!). I'm probably looking for a hybrid for city and non-MTB use.

My question is: what friendly bike shops in the city would you recommend? I'm not looking to spend a lot of money on a new bike, but have no recent experience in any of this!

Thanks in advance!

@brian since no one else has replied, I'd recommend the Bike Station. I've never visited it, and it's more than forty years since I knew the people who founded it; but they were extremely trustworthy and knowledgeable people.

Thanks Simon. A couple of others have responded (think it’s just a “feature” of federation that the replies don’t show up). You’re the second person to mention the Bike Station and I’ve also heard good things about them. I have an old bike I could donate too. Will give them a look - thanks!
