> launch arc raiders
> spend a week grinding for hours every day to find a thing
> finally find it on day 6
> upgrade a workbench so i can make a part so i can make a fancy rifle that also took weeks of time to grind out
> load up w/ expensive rifle + expensive ammo to go out to do a trial (damage ground arc)
> get ratted by some dipshit player, and mugged

fuck this game, i quit.

@Viss boo
@h2onolan im convinced this game is like pokemon go and ingress and its a social experiment to see if they can figure out who the sociopaths are or something
@Viss me and the kid are about to increase the sample size
@h2onolan watch out for rats

@Viss like all of that sounded fine until you can just get ganked and mugged?

A little too real life for me

@raineer it was one of the major reasons people couldnt play it. nonconsensual pvp. so they started doing algorithmic matchmaking which helped for a while, but apparently in the last week or so they tweaked it and started putting one or two asshole players into friendly lobbies. so you THINK youre cruising around with friendlies, then one of them mugs you.

super fucking frustrating. and i hate it

@Viss that had to be invented by a night elf rogue that got banned from WoW
@Viss Understandable.
@Viss I realized some years ago I’ve completely grown out of non-consensual PvP games (used to play a lot of EVE Online). They always end up huge timesinks and gankfests unless you belong to the ”right” group/clan/corp. And at that point they just turn into griefing sims. Just give me small scale co-op PvE and I’ll be a happy camper
