Iโve realized recently that I tend to use up my executive function bandwidth at work, and at home I can barely executive function. Is this an autistic thing? #ActuallyAutistc
@dhedgehog It might beโafter 8-10 hours of "masking," things just fall apart later. That's probably also true of people with ADHD who use masking behaviors. But even among neurotypical people, there's a theory of "ego depletion;" when we've spent so much energy resisting distractions or using "self-control" that after a certain amount of time or hour of the day, we just get tired of being responsible and making the "right" choices. (Skipping the gym, binging for dinner, procrastinating bedtimes, etc.)
